Explain how can data generate automatically in QlikView?



QlikView provides a feature called Autogenerate which use for generate data using system’s programming.

Using Autogenerate, QlikView’s software creates data automatically following a few commands. Such data which autogenerate create not load from an external source but create unique. Autogenerate might generate data like 20 random numbers, dates of 15th week of the year, date and days from the current date to the last of the year etc.

Can you explain Three-tier Architecture of QlikView?

Another way to comprehend this architecture is through a tier model. There are three tiers or layers of this model.
In the first tier, the data sets load from data sources like files or databases and convert into QlikView data files (QVD) in order to store them in memory.
The second tier serves the purpose of transforming these QVD files into files of business needs and according to business logic.
The third and last tier is for data presentation, all the QVD and transformed files load as binary into QlikView document. These files use to create data models and sheet objects for analytical purposes.

What are the Cons of Qlikview?

Cons of Qlikview:
QlikView is a great tool with potential to transform the ways businesses operate. It is inclined to show the fallacies and scope for improvement in business operations. The data interpretations are so apt that it makes instant sense for the users. Thus, it helps in producing desired results towards business excellence. Yet there is always scope for improvement to remain the best in the industry and satisfy the changing needs of its users. Here are some of the cons faced by QlikView.

  • Expansive Product Strategy--No product can survive without having a sustainable approach to win the competition. Despite offering great features, the roadmap for expansive product strategy lacks clarity. Hence it will be a challenge to sustain itself within competition.
  • Considerably Expensive--As part of user survey, a significant one-third customers felt the price to be on the higher side. The pricing model lacks flexibility when the larger organizations have more users. Also the pricing is quite complicated and confusing. This may lead to novice users feeling trapped in its ‘Document License’ which cites the work conditions in slightly vague manner. When the cost factor seems to be rising beyond your expectations, this may be an unpleasant surprise.
  • Performance with respect to Speed--The captivating features of QlikView are not sufficient to keep the users happy. Around 11.6% customers have shown dissatisfaction on the poor performance with respect to its ‘blistering speed’. Being better than the competitors is still accountable for the customer dissatisfaction.
  • Reporting on Email--When it comes to sharing and reporting on emails, the entire functionality is terribly designed.
  • Automated combination of filters--Some of the data aspects which are automatically combined during filtering are completely unintended.
  • Upgrade of Server RAM--Using the RAM of the server is a great advantage in case of multiple users. Yet there are no visible plans for the upgrade of the RAM of the server. With increasing number of users because of the value it offers, the RAM limitation can raise a question on the effectiveness of the product.
  • Usability--QlikView is highly sophisticated yet can be easily used by an ordinary user. But, it can be tedious for a non-technical person to build reports which add value in decision-making. This requires high level coding skills, good working knowledge of SQL and a formal training for using QlikView’s proprietary query language.
  • Not designed for non-technical staff--Although QlikView exhibits great value to organizations, but in case a non-technical user wants to extract some relevant information out of the available data, it is impossible for that person to avail self-service and view the results.

Can you explain start schema in Qlikview?

Star Schema:

A start schema model is a type of data model in which multiple dimensions are linked to a single fact table. Of course, in bigger models there can be multiple facts tables linked to multiple dimensions and other fact tables. The usefulness of this model lies in performing fast queries with minimal joins among various tables. The fact table contains data, which are measures and have numeric values. Calculations are applied on the fields in the fact table. The unique keys of the dimension tables are used in linking it to the fat table, which also has a key usually with the same field name. Therefore, the Fact table contains the keys from the entire dimension table and forms a concatenated primary key used in various queries.

Can you explain Boxplot and Histogram in QlikSense?

Boxplot

The boxplot becomes interesting for statistical applications. Over a dimension, it calculates the expression and finds the distribution of the values, focusing them generally into quartiles where 25% of the values, for example, fall into an area of the chart. The boxplot comes with automatic options for Standard (Tukey), Percentage, or Standard Deviation plots. The whisker length can also be configured with the default being 1.5 quartiles from either side of the box.

Histogram
The histogram is a way to group the frequency of a numeric dimension into a range. For example, how many values were between 1 and 5, and how many were between 6 and 10. It is a great way to visualize numbers that fall into a normal distribution. My data did not fall into a normal distribution.

The requirement for this chart is simply a single dimension.  It must be numeric which means that when you go to add a dimension, you will only find fields in the list that are numeric. In this case, I went ahead and created a field in the script that did the row-level math to determine the cases per 100,000 before using it in my chart. It will count up the rows into bars according to the range that you assign it in Histogram Settings. Because my range went from 0 to 45 thousand, I manually configured the Number of bars to 9.

It  is great for displaying dimensional data points distributed along a horizontal line by the expression. So, for example, several low values will be bunched at the left while the high-value outliers will be spread out along the right side of the chart. Rather than seeing only a total, the distribution plot charts individual values spread across a plane, like mayo spread across a slice of bread. You can add a secondary dimension to create multiple horizontal planes.

How to deploy Qlik sense?

The architecture is based on site concepts. It is a combination of one or more node connected to a common repository or central node.
Qlik sense is deployed in many ways
Deploying single node sites: In this, all the qlik sense services run on a single node.
When there is single time zone, this kind of deployment works.
Deploying multi-node sites: The site is spread out across two or more nodes which contribute the exact set of info and license key.
The basic steps for deploying multimode sites are:

  • Install the primary node and this becomes the central node, which contains all apps that are needed.
  •  Install additional node as rim node.
  • In QMC (Qlik management Console) on the central node, add the new node to the site.
  •  Before testing new node, until the first sync.
  • Similarly, add additional nodes, one at a time, until the multimode site is complete.
